Like most people I was scared to enter a different country to have surgery. The minute the driver picked us up and was so friendly my nerves were at ease, then getting to the hospital being greeted with open arms, not feeling nerves, just care. Everyone I came in contact with showed the utmost care and concern for me and my feelings. The whole process was laid out for me in the manual I received prior to surgery, so I k ew pretty much what to expect. Even if I didn’t read that before hand, each and everyone who took care of me or who was part of my surgical team came in and introduced themselves to me and told me what to expect. Following surgery the nursing team came in around the clock and checked on me. Before my discharge the Dr’s both came in and talked to me about my life choice and made sure I was comfortable. Both telling me to contact them at any time with any questions or concerns. One even gave me her personal cell phone number and wanted me to check in with her from time to time. I have contacted both many times with questions, and they have been very responsive to my questions in a timely matter.. I would do this all over if I had to. A very good and life changing experience. I would and have recommended Dr Altamirano’ to anyone and everyone I know.

Very personable. Is honest and upfront about what the sleeve is intended to do and will tell you if he thinks you need to do other things first. He provides excellent care and makes sure all patients are extremely taken care of. Whenever I have a question or concern, I email or message him and he always responds with 24 hours. If it's more time sensitive he'll get back with me quicker. I wouldn't change a thing except maybe would have done it sooner.
